Even when we think we’re well hydrated, that’s probably not the case. Wide-spread consumption of dehydrating caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, soda and tea are no substitute for pure water and make it easy to become imbalanced and dehydrated. The reality is that chronic dehydration, even if mild, leads to numerous health disorders, even serious ones like cancer, stroke and fatal coronary heart disease. Research has also shown that when the body is dehydrated, fatigue sets in and moodiness or anger can take over.
Water affects everything from digestion and mineral balance to detoxification and memory. By the time we feel thirsty, we are already dehydrated by 1-2 percent, and constant dehydration can lead to hypertension, diabetes, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, headaches/migraines, cancers of the bladder and colon, and much more. It also affects your mental functioning. A professor of physiology at the University of Connecticut named Lawrence E. Armstrong studied the effects of dehydration on cognitive skills, memory and mental stability, and found that both men and women were affected, even when mildly dehydrated. Women reported fatigue, difficulty concentrating, alterations in mood and headaches, while male participants noted increased anxiety and tension, as well as poor memory.
So don’t forget to drink up, especially in the morning! And check out the information below from The Natures Farmacy for a system of water therapy you may want to give a try. But first here’s a little background from UndergroundHealthReporter.com about the protocol:
This remarkable water therapy originates from ancient Ayurvedic medicine. In Sanskrit, the name for the practice is Usha Paana Chikitsa, which roughly translates to “early morning water treatment.”
Can Water Wash Away Disease?
It has long been known that drinking water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach purifies the body’s internal system. An especially important result of this treatment is that it cleanses the colon, which makes the body much more able to absorb nutrients from food.
This is achieved through the production of new blood, or haematopaises. This fresh blood has an immense restorative effect in the body and can even cure existing ailments.
An Unlikely Prison Discovery—Water as Potent Medicine
Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj discovered the healing powers of water and the link between dehydration and chronic illness 17 years ago. He was then serving a jail sentence as a political prisoner in Iran.
During his imprisonment, Dr. Batmanghelidj used the only medicine available to him—which was water—to successfully treat 3,000 fellow prisoners who were suffering from stress-induced peptic ulcers.
After his release from prison, Dr. Batmanghelidj—who trained in medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London—turned his full-time attention to the study of dehydration and its negative health effects. His subsequent discoveries have restored health for hundreds of thousands of individuals who were suffering from unidentified dehydration-related diseases.
In addition to presenting at international and world conferences, Dr. Batmanghelidj has published his findings in a number of scientific journals. He has compiled his research for the general public in two books, Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, and How to Deal with Back Pain and Rheumatoid Joint Pain.
He has even produced a video on back pain and audiotapes of his lectures—all of which have been peer and media reviewed and acclaimed both nationally and internationally.
Dehydration’s Many Disguises
According to Batmanghelidj, the body’s biological thirst signals can be mistaken for signs and symptoms of other illnesses. If we treat the root cause of these—dehydration—we can avoid costly and unnecessary medical interventions and enjoy long-term wellbeing.
“Humans seem to lose their thirst sensation and the critical perception of needing water,” wrote Batmanghelidj in one of his two books on chronic dehydration and water therapy. “Not recognizing their need for water,” he continued, “they gradually become increasingly and chronically dehydrated with the progress of age.”
Further confusion results when the body produces complicated secondary symptoms of dehydration. Many doctors misinterpret those secondary symptoms as unrelated diseases.

(The Natures Farmacy) It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x *160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3.. After **45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days) (verify from a consultant)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.
*PERSONAL NOTE: According to my research, 160 ml of water equals 5.41 ozs, so at least you’re not having to drink four 8 oz glasses. However, I notice that two other sources for this type of protocol list the amount of water to be consumed as 4 – 6 (8 oz) glasses and the other as 44.45 oz, or around 5 1/2 8 oz glasses, so it seems like the best thing would be to muscle test and see what’s going to work best for your body. You may want to start slowly and build up to what your body is able to handle. To me, it seems like the amount would partly depend on the size and weight of the person, but I didn’t see that addressed in anything I read. Also, I don’t think it’s mentioned anywhere, but it goes without saying that the quality/purity of the water you use is key. Of course I recommend using structured water.
**Some sources say wait an hour before eating. Apparently you are not supposed to eat for a period of time because the body is busy processing the water and detoxing and building new blood cells and you don’t want to divert it from these tasks by having to digest food.
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink water and stay healthy and active.
This makes sense. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
