Yoga Day Summit, Medicinal Plants, Brain E-books And More

Okay, I’ve got a number of free resources for you to check out this weekend, including 2 e-books about the brain, so as someone used to say when I was growing up….”chop, chop, hop to” and take advantage of these while you can :-)……

If yoga’s your thing, or you’d like for it to be your thing, then this event is for you!

On Sunday, June 21st , tune in for the first-ever, free  on-line global event United Nations International Day of Yoga. This event, produced by The Shift Network & Uplift, in partnership with Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India (Swami Chidanand Sarwasatiji and Sadhvi Bhagawati Sarwasati) will celebrate the global impact of yoga and demonstrate ways for teachers, practitioners and enthusiasts to deepen their practice and be a part of achieving the vision set forth by Prime Minister Modi and the United Nations. The event offers a number of different presenters and topics, and will also include practice videos from some of the leading teachers of yoga.

During the summit, you’ll discover:

  • What’s revolutionary at the leading edge of yoga – and where it’s headed
  • Ways yoga is contributing to resiliency, health and healing for ALL
  • How you can best contribute to yoga’s potential to bring positive change
  • The physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of yoga in modern times
  • And much more!

You can learn more and sign up here.

The Shift Network is also hosting How Medicinal Plants Can Transform Your Life’s Journey on Wednesday, June 24th…..

Did you know that plants — yes, plants — hold the key to rebuilding your immunity, detoxifying and optimizing the function of your organs and tissues, mitigating the effects of aging and awakening your spirituality?

This fascinating subject is the passion of Floracopeia founder David Crow, who possesses in-depth wisdom about plants as agents for the advancement of health and consciousness.

During this free virtual event, you’ll learn:

•    How rejuvenation and detoxification therapies can support your life’s journey, particularly in addressing the effects of aging.
•    Herbs with special powers that can support meditation practice and improve memory and cognitive functions.
•    Culinary herbs that provide high levels of natural antioxidants and strong immune support.

For more than 30 years, David Crow has pioneered a path for harnessing the power of plants to navigate the many challenges of life. He unifies wisdom from many streams of healing practices into a coherent understanding that will show you how to relate more deeply with the botanical world for rejuvenation, awakening and health.

This next resource is a report about the brain and contains some fascinating research and facts, and also includes a couple of simple things you can do to improve the way yours operates….

Neurobics Cover

Did you know that we don’t have a set number of brain cells that die off as we get older? Developing new neural pathways and connections is not limited to childhood, but can be developed throughout our lives —even in old age. Neurobics can help you activate these new pathways and connections!

And Ross Bridgeford at Energise For Life has come up with a new definitive Acid/Alkaline Food Chart you can download here.  Download his free one-page, quick reference chart here. Just remember that where foods are ranked on charts can vary to some degree, depending not only on who compiled the data, but also  whether the foods’ acidity/alkalinity is based on their natural state or the effect they have in/on the body when consumed. I glanced over the reference chart and some of the items were listed quite differently than what I’ve seen elsewhere, so it’s probably good to check several sources when it comes to where foods rank. And if you are unfamiliar with the importance of having an alkaline pH, read this Self-help Heath post.

And don’t forget the upcoming Future of Healing  event starting on June 22nd that I mentioned in a previous post, and Springforest QiGong Healing Fest, also starting on the 22nd and mentioned in this post.
