Could Good Ole Vitamin C Be The Answer to Measles, Chickenpox & Other Viral Conditions?

Time and time again I am amazed at how large doses of Vitamin C seem to be the answer to almost anything, With all the attention measles has been getting in the news lately, it’s good to know there could be a simple all-natural way for dealing with it…..

How can Western medicine ignore this natural solution for measles, chickenpox & other viral conditions??

(NaturalHealth365) With over 700 cases reported throughout the nation – and with hundreds of students and staff members currently under quarantine at two California universities – the United States is facing its worst outbreak of measles in close to 20 years.  Other contagious (viral) diseases – including mumps and chickenpox – appear to be making comebacks as well.

With the resurgence of these diseases, the need for non-toxic, inexpensive and effective therapies has never been more important.

Forward-thinking physicians and researchers have long maintained that high-dose, vitamin C therapies can help fill this bill, combating disease naturally without causing dangerous side effects. Sadly, the groundbreaking work of these pioneers has been met with skepticism by Western medicine.

Measles infects 90 percent of all unvaccinated people who are exposed

Measles, which can spread through virus-laden droplets in the air, is a highly contagious disease, with symptoms of rash, fever and sore throat typically appearing 10 to 14 days after exposure.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the current measles outbreak was triggered by travelers who acquired the infection overseas, in locations as far-flung as Israel, Ukraine and the Philippines.

And, the CDC reports that 503 of the 704 diagnosed cases involve people who were not immunized against measles. (Note: According to an article in the New York Times, 76 of the individuals contracted the disease in spite of having been immunized).

Fortunately, there have been no deaths due to the current measles outbreak.  But, the real question here ought to be: how dangerous is the measles (for most people) and should we really be so terrified about our children getting this viral condition?

It should be noted that: complications of measles can include pneumonia and encephalitis (swelling and inflammation of the brain).  But, this is really quite rare and it’s important to know that there are highly effective (non-toxic) ways to deal with bacterial and viral infections. (keep reading to discover the truth.)

In fact, Jonathan Landsman, creator of NaturalHealth365 dedicated an entire online event to this topic of immunity.  Click here to discover the best ways to strengthen your immune system and protect yourself from autoimmune disorders, cancer, heart disease, dementia and even common pathogens like the flu, measles and pneumonia.

Vitamin C pioneer reports successfully treating chickenpox, mumps, measles – and more

Much of the groundwork for using vitamin C against disease has been established by the work of Dr. Frederick R. Klenner, a physician and researcher who used mega-doses of intravenous vitamin C – in the form of ascorbic acid – to treat a variety of viral diseases in the 1940s and 1950s.

In 1948, Dr. Klenner began treating polio with dosages of 1,000 to 2,000 mg of ascorbic acid – given every two to four hours for the first 24 hours, then every 4 to 6 hours for the next 48 hours.

And, the results were stunning.

All patients, Dr. Klenner reported, were “clinically well” after 72 hours.

In his book, “Injectable Vitamin C: Effective Treatment for Viral and Other Diseases,” Dr. Klenner detailed his use of intravenous vitamin C to successfully treat a wide range of illnesses – including diphtheria, shingles, polio, encephalitis, viral pneumonia and influenza.

Significantly – in regards to the resurgence of viral diseases in the United States – the list of diseases treated by Dr. Klenner with vitamin C includes chicken pox, measles and mumps.

Vitamin C fights bacterial and viral infections through multiple methods of action

Vitamin C has long been acknowledged as a potent antibiotic and antioxidant that can scavenge harmful free radicals and reduce disease-causing oxidative stress.

Research has shown that vitamin C stops the replication of viruses (their ability to multiply and spread) by interfering with viral DNA.

In addition, it stimulates the production and function of disease-fighting leukocytes, or white blood cells – enhancing their ability to engulf and destroy pathogenic bacteria.

Finally, vitamin C enhances the production of interferon, which helps prevent cells from being infected.

In a study conducted at the Riordan Clinic, scientists found that intravenous vitamin C therapy reduced viral antibody levels in patients with Epstein-Barr syndrome.  Calling vitamin C a “super-antibiotic,” the researchers noted the nutrient had a “positive effect” on disease duration.

The researchers also reported that vitamin C kills viruses and bacteria in a dose-dependent fashion – meaning the stronger the concentration of vitamin C, the higher percentage of viruses it kills.

Reinforcing the earlier observations of Dr. Klenner, the scientists concluded that vitamin C’s antiviral effect was greatest when it was introduced early in the infection.

Vitamin C yields stunning results against sepsis, slashing death rate

Sepsis, a body-wide infection, features a grim mortality rate of up to 50 percent – and kills roughly a quarter of a million people per year in the United States alone.

But, a Virginia doctor is making medical history with his use of vitamin C against the disease.

In 2016, Dr. Paul Marik tried using high-dose vitamin C, along with hydrocortisone and vitamin B-1, on a woman dying of septic shock. After her condition improved “strikingly” – leading to a full recovery – Dr. Marik went on to administer the therapy to 47 more septic patients.

Only 4 of Dr. Marik’s patients died – as opposed to 19 of 47 patients who were given standard medical treatment.

A retrospective study showed that 40 percent of conventionally-treated sepsis patients at the hospital died – while less than 10 percent of Dr. Marik’s patients succumbed to the disease.

In a later study, in fact, only one of Dr. Marik’s vitamin C-treated patients died, out of a group of 150 sepsis patients – a truly astonishing result.

Sadly, the therapeutic value of vitamin C has been dismissed by Western medicine – and by big pharma

One wonders why the news of the life-saving properties of high-dose intravenous vitamin C has met with such indifference – and resistance – from conventional medical authorities.

The answer, say natural health advocates, may be that natural therapies are incompatible with the growth and success of the powerful pharmaceutical industry.

Rather than eliminating diseases by treating their root causes, many medications merely mask symptoms. In addition, modern drugs are now being made from synthetic molecules – increasing the body’s toxic burden and creating a need for constant detoxification.

Clearly, pharmaceutical drugs can actually contribute to disease.

For example, it is not uncommon for a new drug to feature a life-threatening “side effect,” such as increased risk of cancer.  This all benefits big pharma, which rakes in huge profits from patenting new drugs. (After all, the industry needs a steady  supply of diseases to target).

Non-toxic, inexpensive and effective, high-dose vitamin C therapy should no longer be overlooked by the medical community. Hopefully, this amazing nutrient will receive its just due as an important natural weapon against viral diseases.
